Transportation Efficiency Analysis

The Transportation Efficiency Analysis (TEA 2.0) identifies infrastructure barriers to housing and connects transportation and land use. It includes a Geospatial Study (mapping portion) and an Economic Feasibility Study. The Geospatial Study connects 2027 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) projects to residential and commercial development. The Economic Feasibility Study analyzes potential revenue impacts from intensifying land uses in select areas across the region.

SLOCOG and SLO County secured a Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant in 2024 to pursue this project and contracted with ECONorthwest to conduct the Economic Feasibility Analysis. The TEA 2.0 StoryMap visualizes the geospatial study methodology and resulting TEA areas. The final Economic Feasibility Analysis report and TEA 2.0 project list will be published in the coming months.
