Edna-Price Canyon Trail

As of March 8th, 2024, President Joe Biden signed into law more than $4,000,000 in funding for San Luis Obispo community projects secured by Congressman Salud Carbajal. The Edna Price Canyon Trail project received a funding allocation of $850,000 towards the completion of a 1.2-mile bike and pedestrian pathway adjacent to State Route 227. This pathway aims to establish connections between local neighborhoods and key destinations such as Los Ranchos Elementary School.

Edna-Price Canyon Trail Feasibility Study

On March 2, 2016, the Edna-Price Canyon Trail Feasibility Study was adopted by the SLOCOG Board. Thank you to everyone who attended workshops, took the survey, left a comment on our online mapping tool, or otherwise gave feedback. This portion of the trail corridor will connect Pismo Beach to San Luis Obispo.

2016 ADOPTED STUDY

The overall goal of the study was to analyze opportunities, constraints, and alignment options for a multi-purpose trail between San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach through the Edna Valley and Price Canyon. The planning process for the project took place in 2015 and early 2016, with three public workshops, an online and paper surveys, an online mapping tool, and other public input opportunities. The study assessed the planning and policy framework for the trail, its environmental setting, and its surrounding land uses. It recommends trail designs, a preferred alignment, alternate alignments, and an implementation strategy.
