Register to attend the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments’ (SLOCOG) upcoming virtual public meeting concerning the future of train travel along the Central Coast on

For the last year, SLOCOG, the Coast Rail Coordinating Council (CRCC), partners, and regional community have engaged in the Coast Rail Corridor Study to examine opportunities for expanding intercity rail and bus connectivity and to evaluate the feasibility of implementing regional-commuter rail service in the SLO and northern Santa Barbara regions. The jam will feature a series of three-minute personal stories from residents in the San Luis Obispo region, sharing the positive effects that biking, walking, and using public transit have had on their lives, with time for questions and answers.

Our storytellers for the event include these SLO County residents:

  • Eric Azriel - Graduate Student, Cal Poly

  • Jim DeCecco - Retired teacher 

  • Sara Della Ripa - Biomedical Engineer in FemTech

  • Tom Di Santo- Associate Professor, Cal Poly

  • Audrey Surprenant - Test Technician, SRAM

  • Meg Syfan - Safe Pathways Advocate

  • Aaron Linn - Linn's of Cambria

The event is the culmination of a special storytelling project SLOCOG has engaged in for its upcoming 2021 Active Transportation Plan, which is still in development.
