Public Information Office

The primary responsibility of the Public Information Office is to maintain and expand governmental, community and private sector participation in the regional planning work of SLOCOG. This is accomplished by working with cities and counties, local government officials, community and business interest groups, and the news media. The Public Information Office is responsible for disseminating SLOCOG's messages by preparing brochures, newsletters, and presentations, facilitating news media requests and conducting news conferences, writing speeches, newspaper and magazine articles and broadcast public service announcements when necessary and working with SLOCOG planners to conduct public workshops and hearings. An integral part of these communications efforts is our in-house graphics staff who create many of the visual components. The complete SLOCOG public participation plan can be found here.
