Public Hearing Notices

The San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG) will hold a Public Hearing on October 2, 2019, to receive public testimony on the 2019 Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP) Amendment No. 6.  The 2019 FTIP Amendment No. 6 consists of the following changes:  

1.) New Grouped Project for Emergency Response Program, Near Morro Bay, 3.1 miles north of Route 1. Construct soldier pile wall. $8.5M total. $1.2M FY19/20.

2) Templeton-Atascadero Connector CMAQ funds $250k FY 19/20

3.) Bob Jones Trail CMAQ funds $350k FY19/20

4.) City of SLO Signal & Intersection Improvements – California and Taft Roundabout $370k RSTP FY20 Reprogramming of matched funds from Rail Road Xing RSTP FY15.

The FTIP is the region’s transportation programming document that contains a comprehensive listing of surface transportation projects that receive federal funds, are subject to a federally required action, or are regionally significant.  Highway and local road projects, public transit, bicycle and pedestrian projects are included in the FTIP based on programmed and committed federal, state, and local funding over the next four years.  

The San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority (RTA), the City of San Luis Obispo Transit agency and the South County Transit (SCT) agency rely upon SLOCOG, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) to meet the public participation requirements for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Program of Projects.

The San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG) will hold a public hearing on October 2, 2019 to consider adoption of the Proposed Final Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) Plan as the Final RHNA Plan. The Final RHNA Plan distributes projected housing units, a projection which was determined by the State of California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), for the County of San Luis Obispo and its seven cities. Following a public comment period, the SLOCOG Board adopted the RHNA distribution methodology on February 6th, 2019. Following a public comment period, on June 5th, 2019, the SLOCOG Board issued and distributed the draft RHNA Plan to all jurisdictions, HCD, and posted to the website to begin a 45-day period for review and appeals. No appeals were received within the appeal period. In August, the SLOCOG Board issued the Proposed Final RHNA Plan.
