Models are an essential analytical tool for both regional transportation planning. They are used to develop multiple scenarios reflecting differing transportation networks and/or land use patterns that compare factors such as vehicle miles traveled, vehicle hours of travel, traffic volumes and travel times. In addition, the outputs from the Model can be used for further analysis with other tools such as traffic operations and air quality models. The SLOCOG models support key planning activities in the region including the Regional Transportation Plan, Air Quality Conformity Analysis, and other regional transportation planning studies, general plans, land use and traffic impact studies.
The doument below provides an overview of SLOCOG's modeling tools.
