Public Hearing Notices

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG) will hold a Public Hearing on April 5, 2017, to receive public testimony on the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Capital Project Improvement Programming.

At its December 2016 meeting (Item B-4), the SLOCOG Board approved the Active Transportation Partnership Program and a short term active transportation investment.  This investment included $350,000 for Safe Routes to School (SRTS) infrastructure projects to be prioritized by the SRTS Prioritization Tool, an evaluation tool developed in-house and reviewed by SLOCOG’s advisory committees and the SRTS Task Force.  After SLOCOG’s Technical Transportation Advisory Committee (TTAC) endorsed evaluation criteria in January, a Call for Projects was sent to TTAC members on February 22, with an application deadline of Tuesday, March 14. This investment will fund small-scale, cost-effective improvements toward increasing the safety, comfort, and convenience of walking and bicycling to school, focusing on the schools most in need.

Individuals wishing accessibility accommodations at this meeting, under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), may request such accommodations to aid hearing, visual, or mobility impairment (including Limited English Proficiency [LEP]) by contacting SLOCOG offices at 781-4219.  Please note that 48 hours advance notice (prior to the date of the meeting) will be necessary to honor your request.

Please refer to www.slocog.org for the meeting agenda and further information.  The hearing will be held during the SLOCOG Board meeting on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, starting at 8:30 a.m. in the County Board of Supervisors’ Chambers, County Government Center, 1055 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo, California.  For more information, write to SLOCOG, 1114 Marsh Street, San Luis Obispo, CA  93401, or contact Jeffery Brubaker at 788-2104 (email at JBrubaker@slocog.org).
